Smederevo Fortress
The fortress was built in the 15th century by Despot Đurađ Branković, where the river Jezava flows into the Danube. It has 25 towers and is among the largest lowland fortresses in Europe.
A walk by the river
A promenade runs along the Danube beside the fortress. The view of the walls from the water or the bank shows best just how big the fortress is.
Smederevo Autumn
Smederevo is also a town of vineyards. Every autumn it holds Smederevo Autumn, a festival celebrating the grape harvest with a parade, music and wine.
