Dortmund: football, beer and a lake where a steelworks stood

The BVB stadium

Borussia Dortmund's stadium is the largest in Germany, and its south stand, known as the Yellow Wall, holds around twenty-five thousand standing fans. Stadium tours run on days without a match.

German Football Museum

Right opposite the main railway station is the museum of German football, with trophies, shirts and games for children.

Dortmunder U

The old brewery with a large golden U on its roof is now a centre for art and culture, with a terrace overlooking the city.

Phoenix Lake

On the site of a former steelworks a lake has been created, with a promenade, cafés and homes. It is a fine example of how the Ruhr is changing.
